The Ministry of Finance announced that as of 1 January 1998, maximum prices will apply to only 3,500 drugs (compared to 6,900 currently) and to 2,000 different types of medical supplies (vs. 7,000 currently). Those items, which will no longer be subject to the price regulation, will be subject to specific guidelines for setting prices.
