The Parliament adopted a new Bill amending the Energy Act introducing a number of measures to further integrate RES Generation into the liberalised market and abolishing electricity export fees.

The Bill has already passed its first hearing before the Energy committee and the plenary session of the Bulgarian Parliament.

The NSGE provided under Decision SP-1 represents a specific amount of electricity per 1 kW installed capacity to be purchased by the end suppliers and the public supplier under the FiTs.

On 22 January 2018 the Bulgarian Competition Protection Commission ("CPC") announced that it opened a sector inquiry into the electricity markets in Bulgaria.

The proposals include measures that should lead to greater energy efficiency and bigger number of market relations in the energy sector.
