Conforme publicado recentemente no jornal Diário Do Comércio, a Receita Federal apreendeu aproximadamente R$ 2,974 bilhões de produtos ilegais em 2018. O número aumentou em aproximadamente R$ 673 bilhões de 2017, o que quer dizer que as alfandegas alcançaram um patamar de sucesso no combate à pirataria. É extremamente importante que produtos ilegais sejam impedidos de entrar no país, porque eles são diretamente responsáveis por agravar diversos problemas pré-existentes no Brasil, tais como:

Prática ilegal de pirataria impede a criação de 1.5 milhões de empregos,1 de acordo com a Confederação Nacional da Industria (CNI).

Sonegação fiscal um prejuízo de aproximadamente R$ 115 bilhões2, de acordo com o Fórum Nacional Contra Pirataria (FNCP).
