Alice Ferreira Fretes
Head of Legal for Latin America | Ceragon Networks
Alice Ferreira is a seasoned legal professional with over 15 years of experience across private practice and in-house roles in multinational corporations. Called to the bar in 2014, she began her legal career in 2009 and has since built a broad and versatile practice spanning corporate law, litigation, labour, environmental, administrative, data privacy, cybersecurity, and telecommunications law. Alice launched her career at Moreno Ruffinelli, one of Paraguay’s most prominent law firms, before joining Vouga Abogados, where she developed her career over several years, ultimately reaching a senior position. During her time there, she handled high-stakes litigation of national significance and was instrumental in building the firm’s environmental law department from the ground up. Her in-house career has taken her through some of the most recognised multinational companies operating in the region, including British American Tobacco, where she advised on complex regulatory and corporate matters. She later joined Equifax Paraguay, initially as in-house counsel before being appointed General Legal Counsel and Manager. In that role, she led the company through a significant regulatory milestone, securing the operating licence granted by the Banco Central del Paraguay — making Equifax the first credit bureau in the country to obtain this authorisation. Alice is currently Head of Legal for Latin America at Ceragon Networks, a global leader in wireless backhaul and telecommunications solutions. In this regional role, she oversees legal operations across multiple jurisdictions and is spearheading a full restructuring of the legal department — implementing governance frameworks, updating corporate documentation, and establishing processes and controls where none previously existed. Throughout her career, Alice has managed complex litigation, advised boards and senior management on strategic legal and compliance matters, and successfully navigated data privacy and cybersecurity challenges in highly regulated industries. She brings a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to legal leadership, combining deep technical expertise with strong business acumen. Alice holds a law degree from Paraguay and has complemented her academic training with specialised programmes at world-renowned institutions, including a Negotiation course at Harvard University and a specialisation in Law and Damages at the University of Salamanca, Spain.
