Career Biography
Oluwasimbo Taiwo began her legal career as a legal assistant to a Justice of the High Court in Rivers State, Nigeria, gaining early exposure to judicial processes and court procedures. She later joined Olabiyi Durojaiye & Co (law office) where she was a part of the firm’s debt recovery team representing several banks and overseeing the legal enforcement of outstanding debts.
She subsequently moved to Stallion Home Savings & Loan, a mortgage bank, as an assistant manager where she gained further experience in legal advisory and regulatory compliance.
Oluwasimbo’s 17-year career in the aviation industry began at Arik Air, where she pioneered and led the Baggage Claims Unit within the Ground Operations Department overseeing passenger baggage claims resolution, supporting compliance with aviation consumer protection and regulatory framework across all stations both locally and internationally within the airline’s network. The role provided her with deep operational insight into the airline’s processes, passenger relations and aviation service delivery.
Building on this operational foundation, she progressed into Arik Air’s legal department focusing on regulatory compliance, case management and legal advisory.
Throughout her in-house career, she has provided strategic legal guidance on regulatory matters including contract risk management, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.
She currently works with Air Peace, the largest airline of Nigeria and West Africa, focusing on case management, dealing with strategic handling of legal matters and claims while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks governing the aviation industry.
