Career biography

Yudith Castillo Nuñez is Legal and Regulatory Director at Grupo PUNTACANA. She graduated cum laude with a law degree from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and has undertaken postgraduate studies in Labour and Social Security Law at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and Consumer Law at the University of Valencia, Spain. She also holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Quebec in Montreal.

She trained as a Latin American Labour Law Expert at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Training Centre and at the Universities of Bologna and Castilla-La Mancha. She has also completed specialist studies in Airport Law at Yale University and Compliance at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona.

Throughout her career, Yudith has held a number of senior legal and regulatory positions. She previously worked as Assistant Lawyer to the Legal Adviser of the Executive Branch, served as a Director within the Legal and Regulatory division at Codetel, and was Legal Director at Opitel and Verizon International Teleservices. She has also worked as a business consultant and as a National Consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Yudith has served on drafting and review committees for various bills and regulations in the Dominican Republic and has represented the employer sector on the governing boards of several national organisations and associations. She also teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and Master’s programmes at a number of universities and educational institutions in the Dominican Republic.

She has been recognised in several editions of The Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Dominican Republic. She is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Arbitration and ADR, an Academic Contributor to the UN Tourism Observatory on Tourism Law for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the World Association of Airport Lawyers.
