María Teresa Acta Morales has served as Legal Manager of Generadora San Felipe Limited Partnership since 2025, leading the company’s legal affairs during a critical stage of development: the construction of a generation project in the Dominican energy sector. She is a key member of the team handling the legal aspects of the project’s financing — a syndicated project finance loan with top-tier international lenders — contributing to contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk management as part of the broader effort to structure the transaction. Separately, she has led the legal work behind the project’s regulatory permits and licences, as well as the contractual matters associated with the transmission line and as well as other aspects of the project.

With more than 15 years of experience in energy, corporate, real estate, and tax law, María Teresa has advised local and multinational companies on complex transactions, financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and regulatory matters in the Dominican Republic and other markets across the region — experience she brings to the team currently working on the project finance transaction for the privately developed combined cycle power plant with the highest capacity and greatest efficiency of its kind in the country.

She holds an LLM in Real Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law and a law degree, magna cum laude, from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE). She is an active member of professional associations in her field and has contributed to pro bono initiatives throughout her career.
