What are the most significant cases, projects or transactions that you and your legal team have been involved in recently?

Over the past year, our work has focused primarily on strengthening the company’s legal and compliance framework. We have been involved in the negotiation and review of commercial contracts with clients and suppliers, the management of corporate and company law matters, providing legal support for logistics and customs operations, and the implementation and updating of internal compliance policies.

We have also provided preventative advice on tax and regulatory matters, with the aim of minimising risk and ensuring that operations are carried out in accordance with the applicable legal framework. For confidentiality reasons, I am unable to refer to specific cases, but these projects have had a significant impact on the organisation’s operational efficiency and risk mitigation.

How do you manage legal matters during periods of instability or crisis to ensure organisational resilience?

During periods of instability, I believe it is essential for the legal department to act as a strategic partner to the business. My approach is to identify legal risks at an early stage, assess their potential impact and establish clear action plans that support informed decision-making.

I maintain ongoing communication with the different areas of the business in order to provide preventative legal advice and prioritise the most critical matters. We also review contractual, regulatory and tax obligations to ensure compliance, reduce exposure to potential liabilities and safeguard business continuity. Preparation, cross-functional coordination and proactive risk management are essential to strengthening the organisation’s resilience.

What cause, whether business-related or otherwise, are you particularly passionate about, and why?

I am particularly passionate about tax law because I believe that effective planning and compliance with tax obligations are fundamental to the long-term sustainability of any business. Drawing on my experience as a corporate lawyer in the logistics sector, I enjoy helping organisations operate efficiently while mitigating legal and tax risks without losing sight of their commercial objectives.

I am motivated by finding solutions that add value and provide the business with greater legal certainty.

Based on your experience over the past year, is there a legal or business trend that you are paying particular attention to and that you believe is relevant to other in-house lawyers?

Over the past year, I have paid particular attention to the strengthening of compliance functions, the digitalisation of legal processes and proactive risk management. In the logistics sector, these trends are especially important given the increasing level of regulation in areas such as customs, tax and data protection.

I believe that the role of the corporate lawyer must evolve from being reactive to becoming more strategic, with legal teams actively involved in decision-making and anticipating potential legal risks before they arise.

What strategies do you use to ensure the successful digital transformation of the legal department while also complying with your country’s data protection regulations?

I believe that successful digital transformation should begin with the standardisation and digitalisation of internal processes, including document management, contract tracking, and deadline monitoring through secure technological tools.

At the same time, it is essential to implement information access policies, confidentiality controls, ongoing staff training and cybersecurity measures to ensure the protection of personal and corporate data, while remaining fully compliant with the applicable regulatory framework.

Technology should act as an enabler of efficiency without compromising security or legal compliance.
