Sophie is a specialist family law barrister, recognised as a leading junior in both the Legal 500 and Chambers UK across all her areas of expertise:
Children – private law (including international cases)
Divorce and financial remedies (including Schedule 1 and international cases)
Part IV Family Law Act 1996 (family homes and domestic abuse)
Sophie regularly appears in courts across the South West and London, including the High Court and has recently appeared in the Court of Appeal in the reported case of J v Bath and North East Somerset Council & Ors [2025] EWCA Civ 478. Sophie is one of the co-authors of the financial remedies update in the FLBA’s “Family Affairs” publication.

Before coming to the Bar, Sophie worked for two years in the family team of a highly respected national law firm assisting on children cases. She also spent a period of time working on public law children cases in the Children’s Services Legal Team at a Local Authority in the South West and volunteering with the National Centre for Domestic Violence.
