    Position

    Alastair joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2024, following successful completion of pupillage. He is developing a broad practice across all of Chambers’ specialist areas and has appeared as sole counsel in the County Court on commercial matters.

    Alastair graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree in History and was the D.K. Broster Scholar at St Hilda’s College. During his legal studies, he spent a year as a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard University.

    Prior to coming to the Bar, Alastair worked for several years as the Political Adviser to the Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee in the House of Commons. He focused particularly on the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union and various legislative, policy and legal issues arising within the Home Office. After beginning his legal studies, Alastair worked for a housing charity, assisting clients facing illegal eviction and homelessness.

    Alastair also holds a MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History from the University of Cambridge.
