Position
Sophie is a financial remedies specialist. Her expertise spans the full range of matrimonial disputes as well as applications under Schedule 1, TLATA, and jurisdiction contests. She is highly numerate and commercially aware.
Sophie has been led in cases involving ultra-high net worth in the High Court. She is well-versed in the issues concerning international families and those with complex trust/business arrangements.
Alongside her court-based work, Sophie has a keen interest in NCDR. She regularly sits as a Private FDR evaluator, and is developing an advisory practice (both on- and off-shore) for associated third parties (including litigation lenders).
Career
Prior to coming to the Bar, Sophie worked in start-up business development which has given her a commercial edge. She came third in her year at Bar school and was the runner up in a mooting competition judged by Lord Mance at the Supreme Court. She also won the highest individual score in a moot judged by Blackstone Chambers about the particular legal challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Sophie remains interested in the law and practice in this area.
