Lara has a commercial Chancery practice, which encompasses all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration, property litigation, company law and insolvency matters.

She is ranked as a leading junior barrister in five practice areas (Commercial Litigation, Chancery Commercial, Company, Insolvency/Restructuring, and Real Estate/Property Litigation) across the Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and Lexology UK Index.

Lara is highly regarded for her advocacy and regularly appears (unled) against senior juniors or KCs.  However, she is equally comfortable acting as a junior led by more senior barristers from within or outside chambers, as she is currently across a range of cases in England and internationally.  She has appeared in Court and arbitration hearings, both at first instance and appellate level, in a large number of jurisdictions.  She is currently generally admitted to the BVI Bar and is admitted ad hoc in two long-running matters in the Cayman Islands.  

Lara is on the Attorney General’s B Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown and represents the Government in commercial, property, company and insolvency matters.

Lara contributes chapters on winding up, conduct of liquidation and receivership to Whittaker and Machell on the Law of Limited Liability Partnerships (6th ed.)
