Position

Andrew Walker KC is a litigator, adviser and legal expert. He also sits as an arbitrator and legal assessor. In his property practice, he advises those who own, develop, protect, occupy or invest in land, and deals with property-related disputes of all kinds (including contractual and development disputes, leases, rights over land, mortgages, disputed property disposals, valuation issues of all kinds, private and public rights relating to land, ports and waterways, utilities, historic rights and arrangements, and high value residential claims). In his Chancery practice, he deals with company and commercial disputes in many business sectors (including shareholder and joint venture disputes, investment disputes, business sales, fraud and asset tracing, and partnerships); claims for professional negligence and other breaches of duty by business professionals (particularly in the fields of property, finance, investment and tax); securities disputes; and insolvency. He advises and acts both in England and Wales and in other common law jurisdictions.

Called Lincoln's Inn (1991); KC (2011); Bencher (2016). Chair of the Bar, 2018 (Vice-Chair, 2017). Elected member of the Bar Council, 2005-2016 (Chairman, Ethics Committee, 2013-2016; Vice-Chairman, Law Reform Committee, 2012-2016; Vice-Chairman, Access to the Bar Committee, 2012-2013). Winner of the Bar Pro Bono Award, 2009. Past member, KC Selection Panel; UK delegation legal expert on CCBE Deontology Committee (Vice-Chair) and European Lawyers’ Convention Committee.
