Position
Barrister at Hogarth Chambers. Called in 2024.
Career
Joseph joined Hogarth as a tenant in September 2025 after the completion of his pupillage, which was supervised by Jonathan Moss, Jamie Muir Wood and Gwilym Harbottle.
Through pupillage, Joseph gained experience across Chambers’ core areas of practice including trade marks and passing off (in the registry, the IPEC and the High Court), copyright (music, literary works, works of artistic craftsmanship), performers’ rights, registered and unregistered designs (including fashion, jewellery and furniture), patents (including shelving and wearable smart tech), database rights and rights in confidential information (including dealings with such rights and breach of confidence). He has also gained experience in a variety of procedural and substantive applications including jurisdictional challenges, imaging orders, urgent injunctive relief, and contempt.
Joseph came to the Bar after a career as an academic and musician. He followed undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in music from the University of Oxford with distinctions in the GDL and Bar Course from City University, for both of which he was awarded Lincoln’s Inn’s most prestigious scholarships.
