Position
Andrew is highly regarded in the fields of Chancery and commercial litigation. He has full practising rights at both the English and Hong Kong Bars, and is qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales.
Andrew has extensive experience in disputes—often with a cross-border or international dimension—particularly in relation to contracts and fraud. He also has experience in matters involving fiduciary duties, property, trusts, pensions and international succession. Andrew acts both as trial counsel and as an appellate advocate.
His matters frequently involve high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. He is currently instructed in the high-profile Lo Family Trust dispute. He regularly appears in courts and tribunals at all levels, including the Court of Appeal and Court of Final Appeal, notably having acted for the successful appellant in Kan Lai Kwan v Poon Lok To Otto and HSBC International Trustee Ltd (2014) 17 HKCFAR 414 and for the successful appellant in Lo Kai Shui v HSBC International Trustee Ltd and Others [2023] HKCA 983.
Andrew is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators & the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators.
Andrew has published widely in peer-reviewed journals such as Trusts & Trustees and the Law Quarterly Review.
His other non-legal interests include Heart of Midlothian FC, bagpiping and medieval history.
