Position

Govinder Chambay is a specialist Insolvency & Commercial practitioner. 

He undertakes litigation and advisory work in all aspects of corporate and personal insolvency law. His specialism means he also has a broad experience of commercial matters which arise in an insolvency context, such as agency, guarantees and company related matters.

Govinder has been recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ in the 2025 and 2026 Legal 500

Career

Called in 2018

He is particularly interested (and welcomes instructions) in matters concerning misfeasance and breach of directors’ duties.

Govinder regularly appears in both the High Court and the County Court and acts at all stages of proceedings from interim relief and pre-action advice through to trials and appeals.

He has also been led on several occasions and is therefore equally comfortable working in larger counsel teams.

Govinder is a regular speaker at seminars and training events and is the co-author of: ‘A Practical Guide to Contested Administration Applications for Insolvency Professionals’.

He is also the co-author of a forthcoming book concerning contested bankruptcy petitions which is due for publication in August/ WInter2025.
