Career
Called 2007;
Kane specialises in personal injury law, predominantly representing claimants in complex, high-value cases.
He has experience across all quantum aspects of catastrophic injury, especially claims arising from polytrauma, brain injuries, spinal injuries and complex orthopaedic injuries. Recent settlements include resolution of a complex polytrauma claim at £1.45 million and a claim arising from a motorcycle accident against the MIB for £1.9 million.
Kane has a particular interest in road traffic accident claims involving vulnerable road users, including cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians. He authored a textbook on e-bike and e-scooter accidents and has acted in many claims involving micromobility devices, including vehicles diverse as e-scooters, e-bikes and electric unicycles.
Recently, Kane was elected as the Assistant Secretary of the Personal Injuries Bar Association (PIBA). He sits as a Deputy District Judge and as a barrister member of the Bar Tribunal & Adjudication Service.
Kane is based in Manchester but has a national practice. On the Northern Circuit, he is an advocacy trainer and is responsible for the training of all pupil supervisors.
