Career

Nick is a highly experienced and approachable advocate who has specialised in criminal work for the last 30 years.  He has a broad range prosecution and defence practice and has been led in some 15 murders.  He has also led juniors himself in cases of manslaughter, conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and robbery.  He is well versed in police station procedure and is a qualified duty lawyer, so understands the difficulties and problems that are faced by solicitor colleagues on a daily basis.  Nick has acted as counsel in hundreds of jury trials including serious sex offences, importation of drugs, serious violence, conspiracies to defraud and all offences across the criminal calendar.  As a result, he has vast experience of cases involving disclosure issues, s8 applications, applications to dismiss and abuse of process applications.

Nick is educated to Masters level, a highly motivated and hardworking individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

He is a current RASSO/Grade 3 prosecutor.  His current caseload consists of rape, death by dangerous driving and manslaughter.

Personal

Nick is a keen football fan and big supporter of Newcastle United. In his spare time, he cycles, plays padel (obsession) and swims.
