Position

Nina commenced her pupillage in September 2024 under the supervision of Mr Simon Povoas. During her first six, Nina was exposed to and assisted on a wide variety of family matters, both public and private. She has the skill and experience to advocate fiercely for her client whilst possessing the insight and sensitivity to understand the subtlety and nuance of the discipline.

Nina brings a wealth of family law experience to the Bar having worked as a family law paralegal on complex care matters since 2018, ranging from (but not limited to) non-accidental injuries, fictitious induced illness, sexual abuse, death of a child, deprivation of liberty, and matters involving intermediaries, interpreters and the official solicitor. She has seen both public and private family law from the perspective of the Local Authority as well as lay parties and indeed the Children’s Guardian, enabling her to approach the Bar with a holistic understanding of such proceedings.

Prior to converting to law, Nina was pursuing a career in academia having honed her knowledge of Ancient Greek literature and psychoanalysis through her academic studies. She brings her academic understanding of and interest in the human condition into her legal practice.
