Position
Julius became a tenant of Exchange Chambers in March 2025 following the successful completion of his pupillage. Julius is developing a broad commercial chancery practice and accepts instructions across chambers’ areas including insolvency, company, commercial, probate, and property law.
Court Practice
Julius is repeatedly instructed to appear in both the High Court and County Court. Some recent examples include:

- Opposing an unfair prejudice petition under s.994 Companies Act 2006; led by Lisa Linklater KC. The petition was dismissed, and a subsequent application by the petitioner for permission to appeal was refused.
- Making and opposing a range of corporate and personal insolvency applications in the High Court (Insolvency and Companies List) and County Court, in both contested and uncontested matters.
- Representing individuals and organisations in a wide range of commercial trials (on all tracks).
- Representing clients in commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes.
- Appearing in interlocutory hearings, such as strike-out applications, applications to set aside judgment, and CMCs.

Paper Practice
Julius also enjoys a busy paper practice drafting skeleton arguments, opinions, particulars of claim, defences, and orders on a wide range of complex insolvency (corporate and personal), company, commercial, probate, and property (commercial and residential) matters.
Before the Bar
Before coming to the Bar, Julius was a Paralegal at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer based in London, working on a high-profile litigation in the pre-action disclosure for a client who defended a multi-jurisdictional product group action, which has now settled for £193 million.
Julius is a native German speaker and has experience advising clients (orally and in writing) in German.
