Position
Amy joined chambers in March 2025 after the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Fiona Clancy. She accepts instructions both prosecuting and defending across a broad range of criminal matters, including cases of serious violence, drug supply, sexual offences, dishonesty, and driving offences. She has particular experience working with young and vulnerable clients, a skill she honed during her time as a county-level and award-winning cricket coach. In that role, she supported individuals from diverse backgrounds and ages, enhancing her ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
In her legal practice, Amy has successfully achieved suspended sentences in challenging circumstances, including for Class A drug supply, for offences that attract a mandatory minimum sentence and for clients that have an extensive criminal record. Amy has handled contested Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearings, including cases involving sums of up to £5 million. She has also been instructed in tachograph proceedings.
Amy is known for her sensitivity, good judgement and thorough preparation.
Before converting to law, Amy studied Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter, where she was awarded a Dean’s Commendation for academic excellence. During her legal training, she won a University of Law Mooting Competition and developed her advocacy skills as an immigration adviser at a Legal Advice Centre. She also coordinated a student careers programme, supporting aspiring barristers.
