Position

Shaylla has worked in Paris for a Magic Circle law firm, dealing with international commercial law and arbitration matters.

She has dealt with highly complex, high-value commercial litigation and arbitration matters across a number of jurisdictions and has been involved with cases concerning major multinational companies (including FTSE 100 and Dow Jones listed entities), alongside government bodies, financial institutions, aviation companies, and international energy corporations. She has expertise and experience in dealing with all major arbitral institutions and rules, including CAS, LCIA, ICC, SCAI, LMAA, UNCITRAL, ICAC (Russia), HKIAC, SIAC, and ICSID.

Career

Shaylla has experience in insolvency matters, acting in an advisory capacity and in corporate and insolvency litigation. She has been involved with matters concerning companies of all sizes, ranging from smaller start-ups to major multinationals.

Shaylla has also acted for claimants, defendants and their insurers, and has strong expertise in professional negligence claims against medical professionals, architects, engineers, and building surveyors. Shaylla has also advised on professional liability claims against legal representatives, particularly those arising from litigation involving commercial and medical negligence disputes.

Shaylla also has substantial experience in complex clinical negligence litigation, with particular emphasis on breach of duty claims. She has been engaged in matters involving delayed diagnosis, surgical and treatment negligence, systemic failings, and inadequate post-operative care. Her understanding of clinical standards and protocols has enabled her to rigorously test expert evidence. She has acted in high-value claims involving multiple defendants and complex expert issues.

Shaylla is currently undertaking research in international economic law.
