Position

Angus is renowned for expertise in cases involving complex financial crimeserious organised crime and terrorism. He is recognised in the Legal 500 as ‘completely unflappable’, ‘tenacious’ with an attention to detail which is ‘unsurpassed’. Angus is instructed in complex cases of national significance for both prosecution and defence.

In terms of prosecuting, he acted in the first Deferred Prosecution Agreement to be concluded by the CPS, a £615 million deferred prosecution of the FTSE listed gaming company, Entain plc, led the disclosure team during the prosecution of former South Yorkshire Police officers charged as part of the Hillsborough prosecutions and was instructed in the prosecution of a defendant who planned to detonate an explosive device inside St James Hospital in Leeds.

In terms of defending, he successfully acted for a defendant charged with conspiracy to murder involving firearms and represented the only defendant cleared of involvement in a conspiracy to supply cocaine with a street value of £10 million. Angus is often instructed on a private basis.
