Position

Nathan Rasiah KC was appointed Silk in 2022. He acts for both the defence and the prosecution, and has wide-ranging experience in criminal cases. He is now usually instructed in serious and complex cases requiring specialist advice, including homicide, sexual offences, organised crime and terrorism, and corporate and business crime. He has been instructed in some of the most challenging and high profile criminal cases of recent years, including the successful prosecution of James Watson at the Old Bailey in 2022 for the murder of 6 year old Rikki Neave in 1994. Nathan has been described in legal directories as "an exceptional advocate" and "a class act."

In addition to his general criminal practice, Nathan is also available to advise in relation to:

  • criminal appeals and miscarriages of justice;
  • corporate and business crime;
  • inquests;
  • international criminal law and extradition.

Nathan is qualified to accept instructions direct from clients under the Bar Council’s Public Access Scheme.
