Melissa Dieter accepts instructions in all areas of Family Law. She joined chambers as a tenant in April 2026, after completing pupillage.

During pupillage, Melissa represented clients in both private and public law children matters. Melissa has also had regular instructions to represent applicants and respondents in proceedings for non-molestation orders and occupation orders. Melissa has recently represented a client at a contested final hearing concerning external relocation as well as accepted instructions in relation to contempt proceedings. 

Prior to commencing pupillage, Melissa worked as a paralegal in the Court of Protection department at GN Law (Guile Nicholas Solicitors). As a paralegal, she assisted with a variety of s.21A Mental Capacity Act 2005 (‘MCA’) proceedings as well as more complex s.16 MCA 2005 matters.

During her studies, Melissa volunteered as a Student Advisor for BPP’s family legal advice clinic; a Clinic Assistant for BPP’s employment law telephone advice line and for The Streetlaw Project. The Streetlaw Project is an organisation which provides workshops (on a variety of legal matters) to a wide range of audiences. Whilst studying for her English Literature Degree, she volunteered for Theatre in Schools - an organisation which ran storytelling/drama games for children aged 4-12.
