Career
Bethany Condron is an established criminal, regulatory and public law practitioner. She was called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2016, having been awarded the Queen Mother’s Scholarship. She has been a tenant at Foundry Chambers since 2017.
Bethany has extensive experience of public inquiries, having acted both as Junior Counsel to the Inquiry and on behalf of public sector Core Participants in a number of high-profile investigations, including the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, representing the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Cranston Inquiry, representing the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and as Junior Counsel to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.
Her regulatory practice includes secondments with the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Bank of England. She has worked on matters of significant public interest, including enforcement action against major financial institutions.
Bethany also maintains a practice in criminal law. She both prosecutes and defends in the Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Courts, and has experience in asset recovery, restraint and confiscation proceedings. She regularly undertakes large-scale disclosure and legal professional privilege review exercises on behalf of both prosecution agencies and defence teams.
Bethany holds a First-Class degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge. Prior to commencing pupillage, she gained valuable experience working on capital defence cases in the United States.
