Position
Toria Holland is a family law barrister at 3PB based in Winchester.
Toria has developed a busy practice in all areas of family law; she has represented clients at every stage of proceedings in private children, including multiday final hearings and fact-finding hearings, in which she has achieved successful outcomes for her clients. Toria is a confident advocate, as evidenced through achieving the top bar school advocacy scholarship and the highest mark in the cross-examination exam. She is instructed on complex cases, including cases which have escalated to require the instruction of silks.
Toria is building a busy practice in matrimonial finance and has represented clients in FDRs and contentious final hearings. She has an excellent eye for detail and excels due to her meticulous preparation.
Toria has considerable experience in providing support and advice during relationship breakdown for domestic violence victims from her volunteering at the National Centre For Domestic Violence (NCDV). She accepts instructions in Family Law Act 1996 matters.
Toria is regularly instructed in care proceedings, having represented family members and local authorities in a range of hearings, from initial urgent hearings through to final hearings. Her empathetic and approachable manner reassures her clients during the difficult and stressful process of court proceedings. She has been led on a 5-day fact-finding case involving a shaken baby and has represented clients facing serious allegations of abuse, neglect and parental alienation.
A former human rights paralegal at law firm Hickman & Rose in London, Toria assisted clients to secure public and private law remedies arising from malpractice including human rights challenges, discrimination and judicial review. She was also involved with Article 2 inquests, investigating the state’s role in a person’s death and working closely with bereaved families. Prior to this role, Toria spent 3 months in Texas interning with the Federal Public Defenders office helping to defend people facing the death penalty.
Outside of work, Toria is a keen runner and completed her first marathon in London 2024
