Catherine studied Human Biology at the University of Birmingham (First Class Honours MSci, 2016) before moving to the University of Cambridge where she obtained her PhD.

During her final year at the University of Birmingham, Catherine investigated FGFR-dependent phosphorylation of PLK4 in the context of breast cancer.

Catherine’s PhD project involved developing and using a novel lineage tracing system to investigate how introduction of single oncogenes into airway stem and progenitor cells disrupted their behaviour. During this time she was also employed to teach researchers how to establish and use organoid technology, within the UK and abroad.

Catherine joined E+F as a Technical Assistant in October 2021.
