Career
Martín Mittelman is co-Deputy Managing Partner and Co-head of the Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Department at DLA Piper Argentina. His professional practicefocuses primarily on advising on financial and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and corporatematters, specializing in dispute resolution.
He has advised on several local and cross-border M&A transactions and corporate disputes, particularly in the mining, energy, oil and gas,and natural resources sectors.
In work related to the Oil and Gas and Energy practice, he advised San Antonio on the restructuring of a US$600 million financing with Citiand Deutsche Bank, and also on the sale of its businesses in Peru and Ecuador. He advised on the restructuring of a US$600 million financingwith Citi and Deutsche Bank Methax on project finance for the construction of a power plant in the Province of Mendoza, GRM Energy on thefinancing of US$ million for the acquisition of Stoneway Capital, and Galileo Technologies on negotiations with a joint venture with NextEra,and in a US$70 million financing from Morgan Stanley.
He also advised Telefónica de España on the sale of Atento for US$1 billion, and advised the province of Mendoza on the acquisition ofPotasio Río Colorado from Vale for US$1 billion, one of the largest mining projects in Argentina. Martín led the negotiations for this acquisitionand coordinated the legal due diligence process for the project and its assets, including but not limited to the analysis of mining and real estatetitles, environmental feasibility studies, and the review of existing claims.
In addition, Martín Mittelman advised clients on the coordination of complex corporate litigation in various jurisdictions, including Brazil,Paraguay, Uruguay, New York, and Delaware.
