Career

Justo Segura, partner at DLA Piper Argentina, has extensive experience advising banks, financial institutions, and sovereign and sub-sovereign debtors on capital markets, liability management, disputes, and corporate matters. He has also advised a wide range of companies in both local and international litigation, as well as on pro-bono matters. ​

In the area of public debt, including issuances, restructurings, and various types of financing, he has advised, among others, the provinces of Buenos Aires, Chaco, Chubut, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Formosa, Neuquén, Mendoza, Salta, and Tierra del Fuego. ​

Segura obtained his law degree with honors from the University of Buenos Aires Law School (2001), and obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Michigan (2005), where he was awarded the Grotius Fellowship. ​

Between 2005 and 2006, he worked as an International Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York City. He served as Deputy Editor of Lecciones y Ensayos, the University of Buenos Aires Law Journal, and was a member of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd and 3rd Argentine Capital Markets Congresses, hosted by Universidad del CEMA in 2010 and 2013. ​

Justo is a member of the American Bar Association, Section of International Law, where he was co-chair of the Buenos Aires City Chapter several years.He is also a member of the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association and the Province of Buenos Aires Bar Association.He was member of the Organizing Committee of the II and III Argentine Congress on Capital Markets organized by UCEMA University (2010 and 2013) and participated in the IV Argentine Congress on Capital Markets (2017).
