Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Sharif Jamoos is a senior associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Dentons' Dubai office. He has more than 10 years of experience working on a wide range of contentious matters, including advising clients on civil, commercial and criminal disputes, as well as complex cross-border fraud, asset recovery, insolvency and restructuring matters. His experience spans a range of sectors, including real estate, construction, shipping, finance and insurance.

Sharif has significant experience representing clients before local courts across the UAE at all stages of proceedings and regularly works with public prosecutors, regulatory authorities, court-appointed experts and other authorities. He also has in-depth knowledge of legal systems and court procedures across the Middle East, including Egypt, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

In addition to his disputes practice, Sharif has experience advising on real estate matters, including real estate disputes, commercial leasing, property transactions and related advisory work. He has acted on a range of matters involving retail, hospitality, residential, mixed-use and plot-related assets, including lease negotiations, lease disputes, settlements, terminations and strategic advisory work for corporates, investors and high-net-worth individuals. His experience also includes advising on acquisitions, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents, and assisting clients on complex property arrangements.

Before joining private practice, Sharif held an in-house role at a prominent governmental investment group in the UAE, where he handled numerous disputes and advised on matters affecting the interests of the group and its subsidiaries, providing him with strong commercial insight when advising clients.

Sharif is bilingual and is experienced in drafting and negotiating in Arabic and English.
