Position

Patrick Loughran is an associate in the Middle East Construction and Dispute Resolution practice. He is also a qualified solicitor advocate, with full rights of audience before all civil courts in England and Wales. Patrick has represented clients in arbitrations under the ICC, DIAC and ADCCAC rules, and has drafted, negotiated and advised on a range of contracts, including FIDIC, NEC and JCT.

His experience acting for employers, contractors, developers and project companies has been gained on a wide range of complex construction projects, including large-scale infrastructure projects and mixed-use retail developments. Patrick is experienced in assisting clients bringing and defending claims relating to delay and disruption, payment disputes, contractual interpretation, defective design and/or workmanship, site conditions and variations.

Patrick also assists clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, including bringing and defending claims relating to breach of contract, infringement of intellectual property rights and enforcement of arbitral awards, both locally and internationally.

Patrick also works in the compliance and investigations team, assisting clients in industries such as logistics, communications, hospitality, banking, retail, pharmaceuticals, technology and insurance. He has experience working on large-scale cross-border regulatory investigations and risk-based compliance programmes.
