Anna Jeewon Shin specializes in insurance, reinsurance, and regulatory matters in South Korea and is a core Senior Foreign Attorney of the Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group at Dentons Lee. From 2017 to 2024, Ms. Shin acted as corporate counsel at BT International Services, where she handled legal matters involving global reinsurers as well as the major local insurers and brokers in the insurance industry for the Asia-Pacific Region. Her work included negotiating complex reinsurance agreements, advising on coverage matters, supporting in claims disputes, and assisting in the development of new insurance products. She worked closely with companies and partners across the region including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and others with a focus on M&A insurance, deal structuring and risk management. In addition, Ms. Shin is experienced in cross-border transactions as well as technology arrangements, privacy and data security compliance and internal corporate governance frameworks. Ms. Shin has strong expertise in government affairs and public relations. involving various issues in the commercial market with a particular expertise in financial services.

Ms. Shin brings with her deep knowledge and expertise in the industry and her commercial and governmental work will allow for added-value to be shared with clients and the market at-large in the region. She enjoys a solid reputation and is widely recognized for her trusted relationships and maintain a strong, well-connected network within the insurance industry and commercial circles both in South Korea and abroad.

Most recently in 2024, Ms. Shin served as an Assistant Secretary to President Yoon Seok Yeol handling international public relations at the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea where she was responsible for legal review and international press relations for presidential speeches and diplomatic communications.
