Career

Chloe Snider is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group. Chloe’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration. She is a strategic and critical legal thinker who works efficiently to find practical solutions for her clients. Chloe is a business advisor to local, national and global clients, assisting them manage risk in corporate transactions and commercial relationships.

Chloe has a depth of knowledge and experience in litigation and arbitration across various business transactions and relationships, including disputes involving asset and share purchase agreements, distribution and supply agreements and other commercial agreements. Chloe frequently litigates and arbitrates corporate disputes involving shareholders, oppression claims and transactions, including disputes involving earnouts and post-closing purchase price adjustments. She works closely with the Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies group, assisting venture tech clients manage risk as they grow and scale their businesses, including in exit transactions.

She obtains results for her clients both through her advocacy skills where hearings are necessary and through her practical, business-minded approach where other resolutions are available. Chloe is proficient at bringing urgent motions to protect her clients’ rights, including by way of Mareva injunctions (freezing orders) to protect against civil fraud and dissipation of assets and Anton Piller orders (civil search warrants) to protect against misuse of trade secrets. In that regard, she frequently litigates matters involving trade secrets – both assisting companies protect their trade secrets and defending companies that have been improperly accused of misusing confidential information.

Chloe’s practice also includes both international and domestic arbitrations and the recognition and enforcement of international arbitral awards. She is deeply knowledgeable about the various Canadian arbitration statutes and has won leading cases interpreting the International Commercial Arbitration Act, 2017. Chloe also regularly deals with the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.

Chloe is an active member of her community. She has held various positions at the Advocates' Society, including as Chair of the Mid-Career Advocates’ Standing Committee, leading initiatives and events for mid-career lawyers. On a more personal level, Chloe focuses on mentoring young lawyers and students both at Dentons and in the broader community.
