Career

Jennifer Thompson (She/Her/Hers) is a senior associate in the Employment & Labour group. Her practice focuses on management side labour, employment, human rights, and privacy law.

Jennifer advises both unionized and non-unionized employers on a wide range of issues including:

  • Employment agreements, confidentiality agreements and restrictive covenants;
  • Employment standards;
  • Workplace policies and procedures (for example, alcohol and drug testing, respectful workplace policies and privacy policies);
  • Employment litigation and alternative dispute resolution (including wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal and federal unjust dismissal claims);
  • Provincial and federal human rights complaints;
  • Collective bargaining and the administration of collective agreements (including labour arbitrations); and
  • Privacy issues under provincial and federal legislation.

Jennifer’s background includes prior legal experience as a solicitor in England, where she was admitted in 2012, and international business experience as a commercial officer at a multi-national aerospace company in Germany.

Jennifer has a strong understanding of how businesses operate and works with employers to provide high-quality advice that meets their needs and expectations.
