Position

Partner specialising in international children work: child abduction, jurisdiction disputes, registration and enforcement of foreign contact orders, leave to remove, contact, adoption, cross borders placement and public law cases. As a surrogacy lawyer she has experience in both domestic and international surrogacy agreements and disputes, family formation and assisted reproduction rights. Carolina also acts for the victims of forced marriages and honour based violence.

Career

Qualified Spanish abogado 2003; qualified solicitor 2006; partner Dawson Cornwell 2009. She is the current President of the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA) Family Commission, former President of the UIA’s Human Rights Commission, Vice President of AIJUDEFA, the Association of Spanish speaking family lawyers based in Chile and the former elected Vice President of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, serving three terms, and the former President of the Westminster & Holborn Law Society.  Additionally she is a member of the International Committee of Resolution, co-chair of the European Family Justice Observatory and has been granted Honorary Membership of ASIME (Association of Child Abduction professionals in Spain), an association Carolina founded, an appointed Commissioner to the National Commission on Forced Marriage and a Reunite International Legal Policy Group member. She is frequently consulted by Spanish speaking media on international children Law. Regular speaker in international conferences and universities as visiting professor.
