James specialises in advising upon the tax and commercial aspects of employee incentives, and share options schemes including Long Term Incentive Plans and approved and unapproved share schemes. He has particular experience advising on and preparing such schemes for listed companies.

He has considerable experience advising on the tax aspects of private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions.

He also represents clients on investigations, enquiries and disputes with HM Revenue & Customs particularly in relation to employment taxes.
