He heads a multi-disciplinary team of ten tax specialists, offering individuals and businesses expertise in planning for direct and indirect taxes and customs duty and excise duty, as well as providing clear direction in tax dispute resolution.

John is dual qualified, as a solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser. He has over twenty years' experience advising individuals and businesses on complex tax issues including customs duty and excise duty. More specifically, he is known for having extensive knowledge and understanding of the tax issues and opportunities in private equity investment, both corporate and real estate, structuring investment for institutional investors and in acting for and opposite public and third sector organisations.

He has a particular knowledge of capital projects in particular those involving real estate, real estate finance or development. Although based in the UK his work often spans more than one jurisdiction with recent work including inward and outward M&A, private equity investment, real estate investment, equity capital markets fundraising advice for non-UK resident companies as well as inward private equity and real estate investment, fund establishment and structuring for non-UK resident funds.
