Career

Michael is a Consultant in our Family team, with more than 40 years  experience. His expertise focuses primarily on complex financial disputes, cases involving international jurisdictions, contact and residence disputes, cohabitation issues and advice on pre and post-nuptial agreements.

He deals particularly with complex financial disputes, including especially those involving a family company or business. Michael has published a textbook on “Divorce and the Family Business” with Jordans and “A Guide to European Family Law” with Resolution. He has lectured regularly on the subject at professional seminars.

Michael’s clients include many professionals – bankers, accountants and especially lawyers, as well as businessmen and women, and others from a wide range of backgrounds. His approach to practice reflects his belief in a calm and constructive style, combined with a determination to protect his clients’ interests when the need arises.

Memberships

Resolution; (National Committee 1987-94); Chief Assessor to the Law Society Family Law Accreditation Panel 2005-07; Fellow of International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Education

Educated at Haberdashers' Askes Elstree and Selwyn College, Cambridge (MA: Law).

Qualified in 1971. Joined Collyer Bristow as a Partner in 1984.
