Associate

Joaquín Espinoza Escobar is an associate in the Environmental practice area. His focus is on representing companies in regulatory inspections and punitive procedures, as well as advising on and evaluating compliance with environmental and occupational safety regulations for domestic and international companies, both through documentation and on-site inspections.

In his professional practice, he participates in issuing legal opinions, conducting due diligence reports, and performing environmental audits for clients in the electricity, hydrocarbons, mining, industrial, and agricultural sectors, among others. In the academic sphere, he has served as a research assistant at Yale Law School and as an adjunct professor at the Law School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).

Before joining CMS Grau in 2023, he worked in the technical secretariats of the OSINERGMIN and OEFA tribunals. Joaquín holds a law degree from PUCP, with a second specialization in Administrative Law, and has specialized education in environmental regulation.
