  • Flor Bustamante Pizarro & Hurtado is proud to announce its participation in the largest external financing transaction ever completed by a private Ecuadorian bank. Banco del Pacífico has successfully secured a USD 500 million credit facility from JP Morgan, supported by a historic USD 225 million guarantee issued by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF). The successful execution of this highly sophisticated financial structure was made possible through the strategic legal advice provided by Flor Bustamante. Partners Mario Flor and Alejandro Perez led the firm’s representation of CAF, advising on the structuring, documentation, and implementation of the USD 225 million guarantee that underpinned the transaction. This operation sets a new benchmark in terms of volume and complexity for Ecuador’s financial sector. Beyond its record-breaking size, the transaction is expected to mobilize long-term funding for productive sectors of the Ecuadorian economy, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Flor Bustamante’s involvement in this transaction reinforces its position as a leading legal advisor in complex cross-border financings and development-backed structures in Ecuador and the Andean region.
