Stevie Gamboa Valladares leads the Energy and Natural Resources practice at the firm, where he advises foreign and domestic companies on matters related to energy, mining, environmental law, and telecommunications. Over the past decade, he has represented S&P 500 companies in due diligence, acquisition, merger, and divestment transactions involving mining and energy projects, as well as in energy and telecommunications arbitrations.

In the public sector, he has led regulatory departments at major state-owned companies, including EP PETROECUADOR, the National Electricity Corporation, the National Telecommunications Corporation, and the Electric Company of Guayaquil (CATEG). He has also served on the boards of the Mining Regulation and Control Agency (ARCOM) and the Telecommunications Regulation and Control Agency (ARCOTEL).

Stevie Gamboa was a member of the Regulatory Board established under the Organic Law of Regulation and Control of Market Power and served as General Manager of the National Mining Company (ENAMI EP). He also chaired the mixed-economy company Gran Nacional Minera Mariscal Sucre.

He has also served as a ministerial advisor in strategic sectors and as a legislative advisor during the development and reform of legislation relating to water and water resource management, environmental matters, citizen participation, mining, and telecommunications.

He has served as the Industry Coordinator for the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in Ecuador and as a guest lecturer at Universidad Externado de Colombia and the Regional Technical Training Center of Coquimbo in Chile. He currently serves as President of the Ibero-American Association of Energy Law.
