Career

Deborah L. Shapiro is a partner in Moses Singer’s Intellectual Property practice group. She represents diverse international clients in the clearance, procurement, registration, exploitation and enforcement of their intellectual property rights.  Among her clients are household names in the sports, entertainment, media, banking, casino, museum and other industries.

Deborah provides clients with guidance on matters concerning trademark infringement, domestic and international trademark enforcement, and transactions affecting intellectual property rights. She routinely supervises foreign attorneys in trademark proceedings in foreign courts and administrative agencies and provides strategic guidance with respect to multi-jurisdictional conflicts.  Deborah also represents numerous clients in administrative actions before the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Deborah was mentored by the internationally recognized global branding expert Alan Blum.  Prior to joining Moses Singer, Deborah was an associate at the law firms Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, and Torys LLP.  Deborah also served as a legal intern for the Honorable Shira A. Sheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
