Mónica is a Partner at Consortium Legal – Costa Rica with 26 years of experience in the banking and financial sector. She specializes in regulatory, compliance, commercial, and contractual matters, among others.

Throughout her career, she worked as in-house counsel at one of Costa Rica’s state-owned banks for approximately 11 years. She currently advises local and international banks, multilateral entities, and Fintech companies. Mónica has been involved in acquisition, merger, and sale processes of financial institutions, as well as advising structuring banks in international bond issuances by the Government of Costa Rica and state banks, among others.
