Alejandro is the Head of the Capital Markets practice at Consortium Legal – Costa Rica, with 32 years of professional experience. He specializes in capital markets law, banking and finance, and regulatory compliance, providing strategic advice to issuers, financial intermediaries, and regulated entities on public and private securities offerings, structured finance transactions, and financial market regulations.

Throughout his career, Alejandro has held key roles in both regulatory bodies and the private sector. He served as legal counsel at the Legal Advisory Department of the Costa Rican Securities Regulator (SUGEVAL), where he participated in public tender offers, securities issuances, and investment fund authorizations. He has also acted as a commercial arbitrator at the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Center, strengthening his reputation in dispute resolution within the financial and securities sectors.

His contributions extend to legislative advisory, having participated as a technical advisor in the drafting of important financial laws in Costa Rica, including the Development Banking System Law, Secured Transactions Law, the new Bankruptcy Law, and the Factoring Framework Law. These contributions highlight his active role in shaping the Costa Rican capital markets framework.
