Senior Associate

Ana joined Galicia in 2020 and is currently a senior associate in the Arbitration and Civil and Commercial Litigation practices. She is admitted to practice in Mexico and in the State of New York.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ana represented clients in constitutional, civil, and commercial litigation at a boutique dispute resolution firm. She subsequently clerked Justice Javier Laynez Potisek at the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico, where she assisted in drafting majority opinions, as well as concurring and dissenting opinions in matters of constitutional significance. 

Her practice focuses on the resolution of complex commercial and corporate disputes. She represents domestic and international clients in arbitration proceedings, commercial litigation, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. She has represented clients in commercial arbitrations across a wide range of industries and sectors, with particular experience in disputes arising from M&A transactions, shareholder conflicts, fiduciary liability, distribution agreements, and other corporate, financial, and insurance disputes. She has also served as arbitrator in commercial arbitration proceedings.

She holds an LL.B. from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a Diploma in Insurance and Surety Law from Escuela Libre de Derecho. She earned her LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where she was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Ana is also a professor in the Master’s in Corporate Law program at Escuela Libre de Derecho, where she teaches a course on shareholder litigation and disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions. She is the co-author of the chapter “Shareholders and M&A Disputes”, published in Arbitration in Mexico (Kluwer Law International), as well as the chapter “Commercial Arbitration and the Federal Constitution: Mexico”, published in Arbitration and Constitutional Law. She frequently participates as a speaker in specialized arbitration forums and regularly serves as arbitrator in national and international arbitration competitions.
