Career

Mary Samuels counsels utilities, companies, and financial institutions across the U.S. on regulatory compliance, permitting and licensing matters. Her practice focuses on the Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Federal Power Act (FERC-licensed hydropower projects), Clean Water Act (Section 404), CERCLA (a.k.a., Superfund), and similar state laws, as well as general indoor air quality and worker safety issues (mold, asbestos, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance). She also routinely handles matters involving the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and state open records laws.
