Career

Jim Miller has decades of experience in public utility law, including the Atomic Energy Act, the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Act, and various other laws associated with the nuclear energy industry.  He has extensive litigation experience in matters associated with investor-owned public utilities before both judicial and administrative forums.  Jim was previously chairman, president and CEO of Southern Nuclear Operating Company where he oversaw the safe operation of three nuclear plants. Today, he participates with various nuclear power industry committees that actively evaluate pending legislation, rules and regulations affecting nuclear energy.  Jim has lectured on various subjects including licensing new nuclear energy plants in the 1990s, the use of expert witnesses in litigation and the attorney-client privilege.
