Katie Kimbrell maintains a diverse practice spanning corporate law, securities, financial services, and insurance. She advises clients through every stage of the business lifecycle, from formation and due diligence to regulatory compliance. Her work includes counseling clients in complex transactions and all aspects of mergers and acquisitions for both public and private companies. She also regularly advises clients on commercial contract matters, structuring and negotiating commercial agreements in support of their business operations.

Katie has extensive experience providing counsel on compliance and regulatory issues in securities and insurance matters, as well as other highly-regulated industries. She has over a decade of experience providing guidance on securities issues in corporate transactions and federal and state securities rules and regulations. Katie regularly advises clients regarding private placements, offerings and filings. She also represents numerous broker-dealers, registered investment advisers (RIAs) and financial institutions in litigation and arbitration, including before FINRA Katie currently serves as Balch & Bingham’s Women’s Initiative Chair. She is an elected member of the Birmingham Bar Association Executive Committee.
