Philip Gunn utilizes his 20 years of experience in the Mississippi state legislature and deep knowledge of the inner workings of government to help clients strategize, develop, and implement legislative agendas, navigate regulatory hurdles and pursue new economic development opportunities. As he helps clients work toward solutions to complex problems, Philip is poised to provide counsel on effectively engaging with local, state and federal government officials, within and outside of Mississippi.

Prior to joining Balch, Philip devoted his career to serving his clients and constituents, from legal counsel to legislative initiatives. After practicing law for several years, Philip began serving in the Mississippi House of Representatives in 2004. On January 3, 2012, he became the 61st Speaker of the House of Representatives in Mississippi.
